So the first #FridayDrinks of 2010 and the new decade was a jolly affair with some new faces (@Alex Bilbie and James Doc) and plenty of old ones, including a surprise appearance from the Horncastle mob. Thanks once again to the Adam and Eve for hosting and to @jethrobelman for the loan of his laptop for the evening, providing the music and Russ Abbot style 'atmosphere' via Spotify. Next tweet up will February 5th at the Adam and Eve again. I hope to see you all there.

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that our Christmas #FridayDrinks tweetup was a success, thanks in no small part to @PipWilson and @jethrobelman setting up streaming music from a shared spotify play list thanks to @lostmoya.
Also, gratitude goes the the Adam and Eve for supplying a quality buffet - nothing but good words were had...

Christmas Market
There was a suggestion made that some tweeps might like to hookup this coming Friday (4th Dec) to drink in the atmosphere of the Lincoln Christmas Market.
You could think of this as a pseudo #FridayDrinks - there was talk about possibly meeting at The Victoria - this is to be confirmed as is the time for anyone wanting to tweetup. It might be an idea to use this blog post to organise and perhaps use the hash tag #LincCmasMkt?

Our fourth #FridayDrinks was an intimate affair, almost the calm before the storm you might say, in preparation for our christmas tweetup on the 27th of November.

Christmas #FridayDrinks
As you might know, we'll be having a little buffet at the next #FridayDrinks, the winning vote was for Menu B, however due to the low numbers we didn't take payment at the tweetup. If you voted, can you make sure that you bring your £6.95 with you on the 27th or get it to either @JustinReid or @PipWilson (they'll be covering the tab and it'd be nice to make sure they're not out of pocket). If you didn't vote and would like to be included then tweet either of them as soon as possible.

Conkers Tweetup
Following the last #FridayDrinks of the year (Christmas tweetup), there's a tweetup at Conkers in the National Forest South Derbyshire. ConkerTU is a free event and "will serve as the social media hub for sustainability". There are a few people who have expressed an interest in going. If you are thinking of going or would like to, please comment below and say if your driving and willing to have some tweeps accompany you (being a sustainability tweetup - car sharing would make sense).

By now you'll have realised that the 27th of November is serving as our Christmas tweetup and is in fact our last of 2009. We'll be celebrating the New Year on the 8th of January 2010. So put it in your calendar now...

The third #FridayDrinks proved to hold it's own, even against the comedy festival. Thanks once again to the guys at the Adam and Eve tavern for hosting us.

Here's a couple of few things coming out of the evening for your consideration...

• Christmas tweetup
  First touted last month, most peeps agree that it'd be good to do something for Christmas.
  It seems that the best idea would be to do some kind of buffet at the December #FridayDrinks (4th Dec.). There would be a cost to this (assuming the Adam & Eve can accommodate us) - I'd imagine it'd be between £5-£10. If you think this is a good idea, please @me, DM or comment below - it would mean you committing to the evening.
  UPDATE: We may be moving the date or venue for the December FridayDrinks, Please see the comments below for more information and to vote for your preferred option...
• New Year Tweetup
  The January #FridayDrinks happens to fall on the 1st, I'm guessing peeps will be feeling a little under the weather that day and might not feel like a tweetup. Should we still meet? Should we meet the following Friday or the preceding Friday? Please comment below.

If you don't know about #FridayDrinks, the main aim is to meet some of the fine folks we all converse with. Beyond that it's the end of the week and the start of the weekend; so why not celebrate! :D

What is it?
The idea is for a casual get together of Lincoln (and surrounding area) Twitter folk. Ha ve a drink and see what comes of it. Beyond meeting up there's no ulterior agenda.

Is this the first? Is it the last?
Tweetups have been going on around the country, heck the world, for the last couple of years. Some more organised than others. Will there be another in Lincoln? Undoubtedly, #FridayDrinks have been going since August '09 with the occasional spin off...
