#FridayDrinks or is that #FridaySoup review for Septembers tweetup

And so we enter the third year in the life of #FridayDrinks. If the group were a human child we'd be entering the challenging phase between a toddler and fully-fledged little person. Not quite up to the correct application of past tense verb forms, but able to climb stairs and enjoying building block games... Anyway, enough of that.

Following August's 2nd anniversary celebratory shenanigans, September's Friday Drinks was thoroughly pleasant if a little more subdued. I arrived at the Adam later than usual and was thrust straight into the midst of a bar full of sweaty England fans. Not the kind of start I anticipated to my weekend. After ordering a pint and sending out a couple of desperate tweets I eventually navigated my way to the Friday Drinkers' beer garden table, following the intoxicating small of @jethrobelman's delicious home-grown courgette and blue cheese soup. Of course I can't forget the ever accommodating @JustinReid, whose frantic IPhone waving guided me home.

Recent FridayDrinks recruit, the effervescent @Mincetroll, brought along her currently Twitterless niece, Leanne, who graciously endured the geeky witterings of us older folk and explained the finer points of retail management at Lincoln College. @jethrobelman and @Mincetroll engaged in some mutual hat appreciation before Jethro shared the fruits of his garden in the form of the aforementioned courgette soup. I don't think I'd be speaking out of turn if I say this should be made a regular culinary feature of #FridayDrinks, in much the same way as @vickyperry's cakes.

Hope to see a few more people there next month, but that's all for now.
